How do you not let people down and remain in good standing when you shut down your startup?

I worked so hard to connect with so many people, these people believed in me and wanted me to succeed. There are a lot of students who really looked up to me. People who overlooked me in the past, now respect me a lot. My startup has failed and I’m done. But how do I save face? How do I remain in good standing? How do I not let people down who believed in me?  How do I turn to these same people I was asking for help, advice or money for my startup and now ask for a job, intros for jobs, an entry into a new industry, or recommendations?

  • If you were sincere in your efforts and they have understood you, then nothing should hold you back from going back to them.

Pl remember, only a small fraction of start up’s succeed, so you are not alone in the boat.

  • “But how do I save face?”

just curious, are you from East Asia? only because it is far more likely people there (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and oversea populations) would say this.
