I am not interested in what we do anymore.

After setting up the company in 2009, things weren’t working that well, none of us were totally committed. A year and a half ago, we got a big customer and we started making progress i.e. business improved. However, I am the one in operations 100%, even though I do not have experience in the field at all. The other two co-founders have experience, contacts and also provide help when I ask for it but, they are not giving 100% to the company.

The point is, I don’t like what I am doing. I see myself trapped in this situation because I don’t have/see any alternative routes. Can’t even get a job because my background is not in a technical field, where I’d have more options..

Sometimes I just want to throw everything away and leave. I feel frustrated sometimes because it would not be that easy for me to get a decent job or even start another company without a non-tech education, and coding is not for me.

What should I do?

  • I don’t know what you should do. If you’re unhappy in your current situation and you don’t think it’s going to get better soon, then you’ll have to move on. You probably know this on some level already. Moving on sucks, because it means months (or years) of effort go down the drain. You don’t have much of a choice though, if all your other options are worse.

  • Why are other founders not participating? If you cannot find the answer for this then you have a problem at hand which you must solve soon.

Does the business has a potential, which can be reached if you put in your best, if so you must give it a best shot, post that if it still does not work out then finding a job though sometimes time consuming but not impossible. Ask one more question though – are you made for job or not, some of us are just not made for job, specially after being on our own for some time.
