I worked my ass off for almost two years to get to where I am now. My business is profitable, we’re hiring new people, getting new customers, … and moving to US to get some of the market there, plus a possible investment to expand faster. People are congratulating me, but deep down inside I am scared shitless! I’m afraid to make the next steps as I’m feeling I might loose what I have built until now. I just wish someone would take everything from me. Having things makes me scared because now I have something to lose. Life never seemed harder …

Dont worry, they are on their way to take it from you. Because you’ve placed the call to the universe making that request. Now the employees who depend on you to feed themselves and their families will have to pay for your inability to be grateful and deserving of the reward that everyone has worked so hard to achieve. Give yourself a pat on the back. If you’ve got any level of decency, you’ll let everyone go and pay them 3 months severance.

Yep it’s scary, especially since you’ve put so much in. I’m going through something similar right now. Best thing you can do is bring other people in. Most people aren’t good at all aspects of business, recruit people that complement your skills/experience.

If you’re not comfortable/able to recruit, then now might be a good time to find a buyer – e.g. retain a minority shareholding and let other people run the business whilst you concentrate on the things you like doing.

If you want a sincere advice, you need to find a Life / Career coach to help you understand what do you really want in life and career.

Keep in mind that people who work for you have families and hopes for the future so if you honestly recognize that you would not be able to manage this company successfully you can just sell to someone else willing and able to do it or find another person to manage it and just keep the ownership.

Anyway be honest with yourself in order to be happier and have a better life.
