I got furious after a frustrating meeting with a VC who mentioned he wouldn’t invest in my startup, and I scratched his whole car with my keys. Now I’m a little embarrassed.

  • You’re an idiot. No one has to invest in your startup. You act like he stole something from you. Why did you scratch his car with your keys like a punk bitch. I don’t even know the VC and I’m pissed off on his account.

    • I’m the one who left the above post. Just wanted to also add that if this is how you react due to a rejection from a VC then you are not cut out to be a founder, since you will face lots of rejection from customers, from the media, and from other potential investors.

      You have to learn to grow a thick skin, but I think someone as hot headed as you will likely never learn to control his(her?) temper.

    • Yep. We met at a well known incubator in Barcelona, which happens to have a parking. I had met on several occasions with this particular VC, who btw is less than gentle, so I knew what car he had. After the meeting, I was walking to my car, and I saw his. Frustrated as I was I grabbed my keys and scratched it.

      I should point out that during the meeting he made a few remarks about how women are not cut for business. It was not so much the fact that he didn’t invest that made me angry.

      • Okay, so this website is supposed to be anonymous, but how would he not know that you did it now, if he happened to come across this post? I mean you described enough of the situation that it would be pretty obvious for him to know it was you.

        Doesn’t matter how sexist he was; you have no right to damage his property. Nobody owes you any money. If I go meet with a VC and he says racists things to me because I’m not white, I don’t have the right to damage his property. The worst I can do is tell other people about how racist he is, which would damage his reputation. You stepped over the line into illegal action.

        • I’m not sure what can he do if he finds out who it was. Will he sue her? Will he call the police? He’ll have to shove it, and maybe talk some dirt about her as you would do with your imaginary racist VC.

  • Seriously? Take some time to grow up before you start a business. Life is equally about rejection and acceptance. You will not win every day.

    • Unfortunately she’s not a troll. I’m from her same incubator in Spain and know all about this story, and I’m quite surprised to find it posted here!

      It actually happened a few months ago, and it was quite disturbing to find out this person (a french girl, you won’t get more data from me!) was capable of doing such a stupid thing. What she doesn’t mention is that she was taped on the building’s security camera, and ended up apologizing to this VC in order to avoid being banned from the building. She got kicked off the incubator anyway, but her co-founder ended up keeping the startup, which is quite good I might add, and stayed there.

  • Pretty funny…but the best revenge is the build a great company and block him from investing. Fuck this misogynistic asshole. Women make some of the best entrepreneurs.

    • That’s the spirit. Guys get away with saying “dumb bitch” to a woman in the audience with nothing happening. She got “fired” from the incubator or accelerator or whatever it was.

      Male investors being sentenced for sexual harrassment but still get to stay on their duties and are invited for events where women participate.

  • Poor lady. She apologized to the investor but he never apologized for his misogynistic abusive behavior.

    That’s another thing I hate about the startup world.

    Such investors deserve a public database of misogynistic abusive assholes and deserve public shaming and should never get to be VC’s again.

    Access to capital is a fundamental human right and the systematic underfunding of women and the rampant sexism and gender-based abuse is endemic.

    I wish there was a group of women, like the pink gang in India, to run around with sticks and beat the shit out of assholes like that. There will be no change otherwise.
