Should I abandon the product?

The product has been in development for 3 years. I am the sole developer now and I’d say I’m burnt out, disinterested and mentally worn down. I feel that If I leave it will set the company back a bit until they find a replacement and that I’m leaving a product unfinished.

Additional problems are: Small cramped shared work environment, no revenue, constant micromanaging and checkups and NO FLEX TIME. How can you say you’re a startup when you offer no flexibility??

Should I stay?

  • In this product is something what will be needed by a Mass of people Star and finish it, if you do Not know find out yourself and Check if this product is really needed in future. In The case of not leave immediatly and spend time with your Family, Friends and all The ones who love you without any attachements. If you do so you will find The real product. Good Lücke.

  • Your mental and physical health is worth a lot more. Think about it: no revenues and being treated like crap. You probably have more chances of winning the lottery that hitting it big with this company. And if you’re treated like that now, do you really think it will be better when it starts making money? The answer is NO.

So, leave now, you don’t owe the company nothing and if you have dealt your hand properly, you should at least have a little bit of equity accumulated over the first 3 years. Bottom line, get out now!

  • Figure out under which conditions you are willing to stay. Then sit down with the founders and tell them what you need. Maybe they’ll accommodate your wishes. Give them a chance to set things right.

    And if they don’t? Bail.
