Where do I find a trusted advisor and how do I protect my idea?

This may come off as very naive, but I have what I think is a very solid concept for a healthcare platform. I’ve vetted it with people I trust in this specific vertical of healthcare who think it has legs, have done my research on competitors in the space, and have a clear plan to monetize it.

I know I need more guidance from someone with experience in the start-up world (I work in professional sports, but would love to start something of my own).  How do I find someone I can trust to commit to helping me, while also protecting my idea?

  • In my last journey, really found that there are no such people as trusted advisors. Startup ideas take a long time to mature and most of the “trusted advisors” disappear to other short term immediate money fetching ventures. I even had one saying “we are not ready for him as a startup”. I was screaming inside, “hello, you should help us now – not when we have matured as a startup” . You should start with interviewing potential customers/prospects. Do not rely on “middleware-advisors” Hardest lesson I learnt— talk to only direct potential customers. Good luck
