Successful startups: how did you measure demand for your product?

  • Not yet “successful”. But we put together a simple signup form, and then tried generated a bunch of press. It worked and we took in over a 1000 names, which (in our case) was enough for us to successfully demonstrate traction to investors.

    • Did the press know that all you had was a signup form with no product? If so how did you convince them to feature you? What did the press talk about if you only had a signup form?

  • Depends, if u r selling stuff its…. Sales. If subscriptions its actual payers, if something like Startups anon or that stale old granpa usin Quora…… It views, time on site, analytics of user involvement and retention. Did I mention quora is Stale ?
