Do I launch with solid featureset or just one main one to establish my market position.

Been building my first startup for almost 7 months. Won a few tech competitions. Market had little competition with our featureset and position. Recently a competitor popped up with a tiny minimal MVP doing part of what we do and is gotten a some press. Others are planning to launch in the next year in other countries. I plan to launch by Sept. Do I launch with a the solid featureset as originally planned (as per my market research) or do I strip some secret sauce features away and launch just enough to set my application apart from the new competitors and launch the full featureset later after we have gained some traction?

  • Launch later if you want to seem like you are re-inventing what your competitor would have already put out there

  • Launch and get customer feedback before adding features. When I think about our MVP I’m kind of astonished that people paid money for it. But they did and the product continues to mprove with more user eyes on it.
