I just read that management consultants are twice as likely to get funding than techies. Goes against the public view. How many of you are mgmt consultants and how did your financing go?

what would be more interesting is what % of mgmt consultants funded have successful exits. it’s unsurprising that they are twice as likely to get funding, since in general, consultants are great at making presentations, doing analysis, and are likely to have the right pedigrees (prestigious college, etc.). vcs certainly have that kind of a bias, although it’s unclear how great ex-consultants are at actual execution.

I’m the OP. Agreed on the exit aspect. However I guess they are using their b-school buddies in finance to get to a good exit. In terms of tech execution, of course they would have to rely on tech co-founders or key hires, and that’s their weak point.
Curious to hear from an actual mgmt cslt and how they did it.
