How do you build momentum for your company, while you’re under contract with another?

I am the CEO of a company and have a contract which does not allow me to work for another firm, yet a good friend and I are starting a new endeavor that I eventually plan to transition over to.  There is so much we could be doing publicly to make some traction but can’t unveil who we are … What can we do?

  • i’ve been boot strapping my company for six months and while working at my full time corporate job. I have a major role in my firm and am a public facing figure. You can make traction under the radar. It takes more gchat’s, phone calls, emails and coffee’s but if you know your audience you can also target them online without having to rely on your immediate network. Partnerships are great too-we have our partners promote our product to their community and that’s built a ton of great beta users. We’ve finally gotten to a place now with traction, market research and the right team on product to start fundraising to quit our other jobs and do our startup full time to bring our product to market. I know you may feel ansy but you can build your other company on the side and unveil it once you know the time is right to transition.
