All I ever read about his complaints about partners.
I was wondering the same thing.
They are found all around us. This is no different than having a spouse or relationship with someone who didn’t work out–or having multiple failed relationships before finding “the one.” Maybe it’s the fault of the person complaining, maybe it’s not their fault, maybe it’s no one’s fault but merely a clashing of personalities and work/quality ethics. Either way, when you have a lot invested in an effort and another person, it’s hard to walk away.
I think he just called his partner useless, but they are halfway through raising a round. Sounds like someone is self-sabotaging. It’s easy to point the finger at others, people rarely point at themselves.
If he was so useless, he would have had the balls to walk out the door before they even started raising.
Looks like a power struggle. Partnerships suck when people spend time feeling like one person does more than the other. Anytime that happens, someone is letting ego get in the way or they are self sabotaging. If you feel they need to do more, ask them to step up to the plate and do more. If he’s complaining about the business co-founder, he is definitely unaware of the work that has to be put in and should ask him what he does on a daily basis and the results that have come from that so he can learn more.
If he’s talking about the technical cofounder, quit right now or suck it up and get a better hire later after you are funded.
Those are the choices. Man up and pick one today, but don’t let your negative energy and ego sabotage everything you and others have worked for to be in the middle of a round. Less than 2% make it there.

Im with you man; refile in a different state and dissolve the current company. No one from the outside will know anything happened and you will be able to transfer 100% ownership to yourself, plus you can have the appropriate amount of stock issued for the seed round investors, all for around $1500
I see this problem often, and have had co-founder issues on more than one occassion. “He’s not contributing”, “i’m putting in moretahn her”, and a thousand other challenges. I chose a different path this time.
Firstly, my choice of co-founder took a long time. It’s a relationship, not a chat over coffee
2. We split our equity according to out contribution of time. Between us we owned 100% pre-seed. But we split our share in a separate vehicle, based on what we actually do. Guess what? not 1 co-founder conflict issue in 2years.
Why? because if one (or both of us) isn’t contributing, we are making a conscious choice to not ‘earn in’.
It’s fair, transparent, open & honest. No games, no conflict, no whining about stuff thatdoesnt matter. Just activty that matters, or doesn’t, toward acheiving the mission
