I'm resting and vesting for one more year. Sold startup and have a good salary, but what I do doesn't move the needle. It is depressing. I have side-projects and earn some money with them. Want to jump ship, but I have too much invested there.

  • Good for you. You admitted (to yourself, at least) that this is what you’re doing.

Most people I know who have done this never admitted it to themselves.

  • Charity work got me through this period. You can really feel like you are making a difference and still get a challenge. You can also look at open source contributions or even. Mentoring a new startup founder. Be open with your now employer about what else you want to do and get your contract reviewed. By doing charity work i made a difference and didn’t violate non compete or give them ownership. It’s amazing what a feeling you can get from working in a soup kitchen or food bank on Sunday
