I run a sustainable tech co that has 60 people (overseas). I work by myself here in SF. I invested a lot + love the products we build + have promising metrics, but I feel scared to even talk about my startup to others. Anyone afraid to talk?

Wait if you don’t talk about your startup how do you find business??

What about your startup makes you afraid to talk?

Why would you be a afraid? What stops you telling others?

If you love it and believe in it, people should be having a hard time shutting you up. Have a little more faith in yourself !

Been fearful is not a bad thing. It keeps you from talking to just anyone about your startup. I have been told many times by other entrepreneurs the idea has no real value. The implementation and business plan does.

People will always invest in you passion and rarely try to steal something they do not really understand. Just be careful who you talk to.

I think the OP was referring to talking about the trials and tribulations. Founders feel compelled to portray strength and leadership at all times.

Safest approach is to share your baggage with people who you aren’t working with and may relate to.
