I lied to stakeholders that we have contracts worth about 20-40k – depending on who you ask. I have spent about $500 on the project so far, and in 3 months hoping to get orders of realistically around 1k if lies fail, else 50k+


  • Who are the stakeholders – potential customers, employees, investors? Did you start the project yesterday if you only spent $500?

  • So basically, you are a liar, and now need to actually get customers. Clearly the stakeholders are friends and relatives, because no one worth their salt would just take your word about how much money is coming in. Sad that you want to start your business off proving you lack moral character. Sorry, but I call a thing for what it is. Well, get to work and get those people back their money by doing your sales. Then bootstrap since dishonest people should not get other people’s money to waste.

    • not friends or family, two independent organizations, i called about 50+ companies in any area of partnership to grow my sales by even a little, these are the best i got. i tried being honest before, only to find out they are not honest with me to start with or never really intended to keep their word – u do get fucked by contracts. i dont have money for lawyers. i will work my best this year to give it all, if i can get it floating than i go on, otherwise close shop.

  • Get the fuck to work… FYI, one of the most successful 16 year olds sold his online marketing platform before it even existed. Then after he closed the sale he shipped in a Canadian programmer to SFO and made the platform prior to the sale.

    It sounds like you over promised. And just a hint; they know.

    No one cares what you say at this stage in our company, just be as true to people as possible. If you mess up and don’t have the balls to own up to it, then just do you best to over deliver.
