I grew to loathe one of my co-founders. I hate how lazy, uninspired and uninterested in improving his work and our company he is.

Talk to him. All founders need to be passionate.

More context is needed.

Maybe he has grown to loathe you to the point where he can’t make himself motivated in working on the company.

Sounds like one of you has got to go.

That’s not going to change. There is no “motivational speech” you can give such people. Just dump him/her, learn from it, and find a better co-founder next time.
