How do these exec douchebags get press coverage for leaving their post from one company to the other? I’m not even talking about big companies like google, execs at like 12 person startups.

Most of the time they were fired, and the press coverage is a way for them to leave with dignity. Sometimes though the execs are considered very good and so a company poaches them away, even though that often fails, like when Yahoo had to pay out like $50 million to an exec who they fired early because he’s incompetent, even though when they poached him away from another big company he was supposed to save them.

I forget his name and I’m too lazy to search for it but I guess Yahoo was probably the best place for him to work anyways since that company as a whole is going downhill. The only thing they have going for them is their stake in Alibaba.

it’s called great PR. Many people on this site really discount it. As a trained publicist, I can make a lot of things appear in the news that might not seem like they have value.
