Do you know of a lot of successful solo entrepreneurs?

I’m bootstrapping my startup myself. I know everyone says you need a team but it’s such a hassle to find a compatible co-founder. I’m a programmer – not so good on the biz dev side but am learning. Do you come across folks like myself who “made it”?

  • I’m a Biz Dev solo founder and ould agree it’s a time suck finding a co-founder, whilst I farm out pieces of the tech side to developers who are happy to work on a side project, I cannot imagine continuing post MVP without a CTO.

The POC being built now will be part of my pitch to developers because it’s just not healthy for me to attempt to carry all the responsibility myself and I certainly don’t care to be identified as the sole visionary on this.

  • I found my cofounder when I posted a job listing on Craigslist, maybe start there and take some phone calls – no in person meetings at first. At least then you can learn the right questions to ask. I’m really happy with my cofounder. We met in October and have had our share of learnings already, the best part of it is that we argue fairly that’s when I knew I made the right decision.

  • I am a solo founder too as I could not find anyone. Now I have employees that I need to pay but at least no discussions on direction.

For investors its typically bad not to have a cofounder but if you can afford it …
